It's a piece of software that can simulate all these virtual surround solutions. If you're interested in this though, I would say give HESUVI a shot. ![]() It sounds leaps and bounds better than both of them. ![]() I compared both of them to my GSX 1000 headphone amp and it's built in virtual 7.1 surround, and there's no contest at all. I wasn't all that impressed with either though. Plug any stereo headset into your controller, or plug in. These things are highly subjective though so the only way to know is to try it. Windows Sonic This is the spatial sound setting Microsoft offers for an immersive headset experience. On the balanced preset it's bearable but the spatial one is horrible. Trying to pin-point sounds is pretty much impossible.ĭTS Headphone X does a better job with that but I, personally, can't stand the way it "expands" the sound-stage. There's barely any separation between front and rear audio at all, at least none that I can pick up on. and came away disappointed.ĭolby Atmos for Headphones sounds great on movies but does a pretty poor job when it comes to gaming. Gave both a shot now that Microsoft finally got around to making them work in regular 7.1 games.
